After a lot of job, I got Xen and my Fedore 5 working fine in this 64 AMD machine. All works excepted Internet connexion. To be more clear, I said the only program useing internet connexion and it''s working is Skype. Also a ping to www.yahoo.fr doesn''t work. The linux that Xen loads is the one I''m using now, that says : No problems. Because the problem appears under Xen as Domain0.... Any clue about to configure Xen to allow all connexions? The problem remains the same but it disappears shutting down the firewall. It doesn''t happens using the same OS without Xen. Have any clue? Horacio _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Am I getting you right, you have trouble with (inter)net connections from your dom0 system, while domU systems have working (inter) net connections? What does your stuo look like? What type of xen networking are you using, how does your network setup look like? I''ve send another mail explaining a little bit more my problem.... If I use Fedora Core 5 I initially have into the machine, network works like a charm. If I reload the machine using Xen and Xen loads the Fedora Core 5 on that particular case the only application that get connected is Skype, all others, included the ping...does not work. To solve these problems I''ve to shut down the firewall to get the network running again, as it''s at this moment. (If I can send this mail means that I get the full network connexion up again.) I tried to put the firewall on and validating all protocols and all ports tcp & udp nothing changes, that say only Skype get connected Now I dont have firewall at all.... This machine is connected to an other connected to the net & running Linux on it so, it is not a problem to not have firewall at all! And when running in Xen a dom0 network connections to the outside don''t work, but they work when disabling the firewall? Your firewall setting as you use them in the system without Xen don''t work the same way as they do when the system runs as Xen dom0, because the xen start scrips modify the network. See the wiki page XenNetworking to understand what Xen does and how the network looks, then you can try to adjust your firewall settings for dom0 so firewalling works correct. you will need to find a way to run the right firewall config when running standalone or as Xen dom0 then. Le dimanche 13 août 2006 à 21:08 +0200, Henning Sprang a écrit : I''ll try to explain once more.....It was a computer with two disks. On the first(IDE) disk there are WinXP (32) an a Fedora Core 5(64) installed. I''ve installed Xen on that computer. As you know, Xen ignores Windows and creates a third entry in the Grub''s menu called (I didn''t change) "title Xen 3.0 / XenLinux 2.6". I''ve now 3 menu entries Fedora Core (2.6.15...FC5), Windows-XP and Xen 3.0 / XenLinux 2.6. I didn''t do much more. I''ve finished to change all things : path''s and software installs to make Xen(64) working. It was a lot of job because my 2 last installations of Xen didn''t work at all. I''ve learn (because I didn''t read) that should never install that Xen, the one that comes in the Fedora release. If I boot the computer & select the first menu I boot a "normal" FC5 release. It works fine! Windows continues to work... If I select the "Xen 3.0 / XenLinux 2.6" grub menu''s line, Xen brings up Xen and the Linux FC5 too. Because it''s the only OS I''ve installed up to now I''ve Linux under Xen only! I''ll try to put Windows Vista if I can get the beta release because my computer have un Athlon 64 as processor. Well, when using Fedora under Xen, I must shut down the firewall because it didn''t allowing me to get the network running. In fact, the only application running was Skype. My firewall configured with all ports enabled doesn''t work at all. To make the network working I need to shut down the firewall. It seems that Xen takes into account two states : Firewall-yes and firewall-no does not matter how do you configures the firewall. Hope is more clear now! Thanks for your help!
