I''ve been having some problems getting a HVM based domain running on x86_64 SVM enabled AMD processor using xen-unstable built on SuSE10.0 64bit. I''ve configured it to use SDL which is installed but I never get a window created. I went back and tried SuSE10.1 with stock XEN packages for a comparison and it created the window but would proceed to hang the machine (I knew the SVM support wasn''t in there yet). The domain gets started (paused due to the reported issue yesterday) and is marked as running after an xm unpause. Is there another step besides rebuilding with ''make world'' after installing SDL (and devel) packages? Thanks, Lee xm dmesg output: (XEN) (GUEST: 6) HVM Loader (XEN) (GUEST: 6) Loading ROMBIOS ... I''m running changeset 10470 (or so - I''ve got some local changes I''m working on committed to my local repo - so exact number may be off by one or two in some direction) at the moment, and it works just fine for me... Of course, I''m using SuSE 9.3 to build, but I doubt that makes any big difference...> > Thanks, > Lee > > xm dmesg output: > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) HVM Loader > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) Loading ROMBIOS ... > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) Loading Standard VGABIOS ... > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) SVM go ... > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) rombios.c,v 1.138 2005/05/07 15:55:26 vruppert Exp $ > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) VGABios $Id: vgabios.c,v 1.61 2005/05/24 16:50:50 > vruppert Exp $ > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) HVMAssist BIOS, 1 cpu, $Revision: 1.138 $ $Date: > 2005/05/07 15:55:26 $ > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) ata1 master: QEMU CD-ROM ATAPI-4 CD-Rom/DVD-Rom > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) ata1 slave: Unknown device > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) > (XEN) VCPU core pinned: 1 to 2 > (XEN) VCPU core pinned: 2 to 1 > (XEN) VCPU core pinned: 1 to 0 > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) Booting from CD-Rom... > (XEN) VCPU core pinned: 0 to 1 > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) int13_harddisk: function 00, unmapped device > for ELDL=80 > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) int13_harddisk: function 02, unmapped device > for ELDL=80 > (XEN) (GUEST: 6) int13_harddisk: function 02, unmapped device > for ELDL=80That looks fine to me... I get those error messages too - it''s just BIOS calls that are unsupported and it seems like the code performing the call is happy anyways... You''re trying to boot a Linux, right?Hmmm, I realize I didn''t attach a configuration. I''ve tried booting a couple of different systems but the latest was trying to boot from a SuSE 10.1 CD.
