Hi, I''m looking for making work win2000 under Xen, and things aren''t going as smoothly as I would have liked. I''m runing Xen under Debian, I compiled it, and makes it worked: - XP boots and work (except that keyboard mapping is not perfect) - the install process of Win2000 doesn''t work until completion and for win2000 I don''t understand why: I have the splashscreen (with the more or less blue bar at the bottom circling), but it doesn''t go further (I leaved it runing for a night just in case), like if it doesn''t manage to pass x86 protected mode or something like this. Does anyone manage to make win2000 working? I have other question as well: - with the binary tar ball, why there isn''t hvmloader? it is not possible to test VT-enable guest if it is lacking, isn''t it? - where doesn''t i change the keyboard mapping (under vnc) : I can''t do ''.'' for example). I think it is linked to qemu, but i don''t know where I can change configuration. - with vnc I have some trouble also with the mouse pointer. - I manage to make the kernel crash, but I have no dump sorry. thanks, /nicolas zin _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I''ve even managed to install it completely in QEMU and then boot it in XEN... same results it stops on the splash screen. Windows XP and 2003 work though. Windows NT4 is even worse than Windows 2000 - it has a corrupted output on the bluescreen section making it impossible to install. I''ve also found SDL to work better than VNC for the graphics display. When installing windows NT4 the whole Xen kernel sometimes crashes. The virtual machine will always crash on installing NT4. The good news is that Windows XP and Windows 2003 both work without problems.> > - I manage to make the kernel crash, but I have no dump sorry.Try installing Xen on a HP DL320 G4 and run NT4 as guest. ;-) Mark. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
