You should get an image either using a file backend, or a partition or a LVM partition. Then boot up the image as per http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research/SRG/netos/xen/readmes/user/user.html#SECTION02220000000000000000 TUSHAR GHAGHDA wrote:>Hi, > >I am installing xen first time. > >Install in suse linex 9.3 & red hat se 4.3 but i could >not start xen domain. > >I have installation guide tar files & rpms of xen 3.0. >but still i am not able co to configure xen 3.0. > >can some body help me how to configure xen. > >Awaiting for reply. > > > >__________________________________________________________ >Yahoo! Hello, Try SUSE 10.1 RC3 and its packaged Xen! If you use SUSE 9.3, it must be easy for you. Install Xen with YaST and follow the README.suse document in /usr/share/doc/packages/xen to test a little domU created from rescue disk image. You could get the RC3 from http://en.opensuse.org noniko _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I''ve been using RC2 on a dual Opteron server box and I can''t ever get it to create any virtual machines. They always fail with VFS kernel panics and don''t see the disk at all. This is trying with LVM and file based space. I had been too pleased with SUSE-Xen? I have only i386 para-virtualization environments. noniko _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I just needed to run depmod -a and mkinitrd in dom0 and the domU has booted up fine. At least for a SuSE 10.1 domU install. Now to try a Centos domU!
