[Xen-users] Error creating domain: (0, ''Error'')
Hi, all. I am trying to create a virtual machine using a compiled xen 3.0.1 on a Red Hat ES 4 (kernel 2.6.12.6) and I am getting the following error: Error: Error creating domain: (0, ''Error'') I just can''t figure out what can it be. I am posting both the vm config file and xm info command result hoping it helps anyway: -- /etc/xen/beta/vm01 name="linux" kernel="/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp" ramdisk="/boot/initrd-2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp.img" builder="linux" memory=128 maxmem=200 restart="onreboot" disk=[ ''phy:vg/linux,sda1,w'' , ''phy:vg/linux-swap,sda2,w'' ] vif = [ ''mac=00:00:00:00:00:01, bridge=xen-br0'' ] root="/dev/sda1" extra="ro" hostname="linux" -- eof -- xm info system : Linux host : linux.localdomain release : 2.6.12.6-xen0 version : #1 SMP Mon Mar 6 11:16:18 BRT 2006 machine : i686 nr_cpus : 4 nr_nodes : 1 sockets_per_node : 2 cores_per_socket : 1 threads_per_core : 2 cpu_mhz : 3000 hw_caps : bfebfbff:20100000:00000000:00000080:0000641d total_memory : 4096 free_memory : 129 xen_major : 3 xen_minor : 0 xen_extra : .1 xen_caps : xen-3.0-x86_32p platform_params : virt_start=0xf5800000 xen_changeset : Tue Jan 31 11:04:12 2006 +0100 8738:eff96462fde8 cc_compiler : gcc version 3.4.4 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2) cc_compile_by : root cc_compile_domain : localdomain cc_compile_date : Mon Mar 6 11:08:47 BRT 2006 --eof -- Eduardo Costa Lisboa _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I tried to use a compiled xenU kernel and it worked. Isn''t it possible to use a common kernel, not xen-compiled, to boot the domU? -- Eduardo Costa Lisboa _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
