[Xen-users] Problem with xenU machines running on NFS server
Hi, We''re using Xen 3.0.1, and running xenU machines on an NFS server. (It''s not Root NFS - xenU machines are stored on a NFS server) We meet some hanging issues when running heavy I/O on the xenU machine. It seems to occur when we run "dd" command for heavy file in the xenU machine. Not only the guest xenU machine hangs, but the xen0 also !! We have no more choice than rebooting the xen0 manually. Have you ever met that kind of problem ? I read some stuff about kernel 2.6 but I thought it was solved... Any idea ? Thank you, Samuel _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] Problem with xenU machines running on NFS server
Hi, I made some similar experiences. For me, it seemed as it only happens when the heavy i/o load is on a file >= 132M in the domU. It happens with 3.0.0 and 3.0.1. See my posting from feb, 9th, 2006 Regards, Michael On Friday 17 February 2006 12:08, Samuel Torton wrote:> Hi, > > We''re using Xen 3.0.1, and running xenU machines on an NFS server. > (It''s not Root NFS - xenU machines are stored on a NFS server) > > We meet some hanging issues when running heavy I/O on the xenU machine. > It seems to occur when we run "dd" command for heavy file in the xenU > machine. > > Not only the guest xenU machine hangs, but the xen0 also !! > We have no more choice than rebooting the xen0 manually. > > Have you ever met that kind of problem ? > I read some stuff about kernel 2.6 but I thought it was solved... > > Any idea ? > > Thank you, > Samuel > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users-- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Mey Thinking Objects Software GmbH | mailto: michael.mey@to.com Lilienthalstrasse 2/1 | phone: +49 711 88770-147 70825 Stuttgart-Korntal, Germany | fax: +49 711 88770-449 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
