I''m running a Dell Poweredge 1850. I just installed Xen 3.0.1, as the Xen 2.0.6 kernel would not boot - I kept getting a kernel panic. I''m also running CentOS 4.2 as the underlying OS. When I boot up a Xen machine that is supposed to have NFS support and try to start NFS, I get the following. Starting NFS services: [ OK ] Starting NFS quotas: [ OK ] Starting NFS daemon: [FAILED] Starting NFS mountd: [ OK ] I''ve done some searching and this seems to indicate that NFS support may not be included in the kernel, or that I need to recompile the kernel with NFS support - problem is I am pretty new to this and have no idea what is involved in doing either one of these. Could someone give me a hint to how to recompile my kernel, or what I need to do in order to get the nfs daemon working? Would I need to recompile the kernel on the xen guest, or on the host machine? The current host kernel is 2.6.12.6-xen The guest''s use 2.6.12.6-xenU Let me know if you need any more information about the host, guests or machine.
