Hello allz, is it possible to compile a 64-bit (arch x86_64) Xen0 Kernel when using Xen v3? And if it is, is it possible then to take advantage of the 64-bit Xen0 Kernel in a DomU context, to assign more than 4 GB of virtual memory to a DomU for example? For an in-between step, there''s also PAE, which lets you use >4G memory on a 32-bit x86 setup. What use is a unicyle with no seat? And no pedals! Mark: To answer a question with a question: What use is a skateboard? Dave: Skateboards have wheels. yes you can compile a 64bit kernel with xen 3.0.0 in dom0 and domU... i''m on it now... but i didnt try to use more than 4 GB on domU... i''ll try :)>From: "Christian Hertel" <c.hertel@infoserve.de> >To: <xen-users@lists.xensource.com> >Subject: [Xen-users] 64-bit Xen0/XenU Kernel (using XEN v3) >Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2006 17:13:44 +0100 > >Hello allz, > >is it possible to compile a 64-bit (arch x86_64) Xen0 Kernel when using >Xen v3? >And if it is, is it possible then to take advantage of the 64-bit Xen0 >Kernel in a DomU context, to assign more than 4 GB of virtual memory to >a DomU for example? > > >Cheers, > >-- >Christian Hertel >Netzwerk-Sicherheit/Netzwerk-Applikationen > >infoServe GmbH >Nell-Breuning-Allee 6 >D-66115 Saarbruecken > >T: (0681) 8 80 08 - 59 >F: (0681) 8 80 08 - 33 >www.infos.de >mailto: c.hertel@infos.de > > >_______________________________________________ >Xen-users mailing list >Xen-users@lists.xensource.com >http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users_________________________________________________________________ Videochiamata? yes :) you can use more than 4 GB with domU 64 bit kernel
here is the "free" output under domU i''ve just tried
total used free shared buffers cached
