[Xen-users] Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image
Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image That''s the error message I get after installing FC4 and following the instructions on http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart running kernel - 2.6.13.1. I partitioned Fedora to have 6GB on a 30GB drive. I have tried adjusting dom0_mem=256M on a system that has 1GB of RAM and still no luck Any thoughts? -Todd _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Paul/Ted I also appended that too to the kernel bootparam line and the results were the same. We are using an internal platform (single proc/single core 939 (FX)) based on the VIA K8T800Pro chipset. -Todd -----Original Message----- From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com [mailto:xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com] On Behalf Of Ted Kaczmarek Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2005 3:23 PM To: McCaskey, Todd Cc: xen-users@lists.xensource.com Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image On Thu, 2005-10-06 at 15:07 -0500, McCaskey, Todd wrote:> Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image > > > > That''s the error message I get after installing FC4 and following the > instructions on > > > > http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart > > > > running kernel - 2.6.13.1. I don''t personally know anything about this problem, but from what I''ve read on the list it seems like it could be an issue with an initrd. Try looking through the list archives for FC4 and initrd -Daniel Nelson On 10/6/05, McCaskey, Todd <todd.mccaskey@amd.com> wrote:> Paul/Ted > > I also appended that too to the kernel bootparam line and the results > were the same. > > We are using an internal platform (single proc/single core 939 (FX)) > based on the VIA K8T800Pro chipset. > > -Todd > > > -----Original Message----- > From: xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com > [mailto:xen-users-bounces@lists.xensource.com] On Behalf Of Ted > Kaczmarek > Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2005 3:23 PM > To: McCaskey, Todd > Cc: xen-users@lists.xensource.com > Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel > image > > On Thu, 2005-10-06 at 15:07 -0500, McCaskey, Todd wrote: > > Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image > > > > > > > > That''s the error message I get after installing FC4 and following the > > instructions on > > > > > > > > http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstart > > > > > > > > running kernel - 2.6.13.1. Re: [Xen-users] Domain 0 allocation is too small for kernel image
I had the same problem, and got this answer from the mailinglist: "2.6.12-1.1456_FC4xen0 fails to boot (2nd Case)" <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=169157 > The work-around for me, at least with that kernel version, is to use the xen package from < http://people.redhat.com/riel/xen_for_fc4/>. However I''ve long since lost faith in having a stable xen server based on the FC4 packages (and arguably the xen3 branch) -- Jon Dowland http://jon.dowland.name/ I just used the old Xen version that is available on the fedora installation CD (and prevent updating :-) Regards, Lucas _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
