I got office 2010 installed, though only Word and Excel, using this guide: http://wine-reviews.net/wine-reviews/applications/how-to-install-microsoft-office-2010-on-linux-with-wine.html Installed on a virtual machine, Linux Mint 12. When I open Word or Excel, I get the message that MS cannot verify the license. I have the key; you cannot install 2010 without a key. Anyone else had this problem or know a fix? Thanks for any suggestions.

Fair enough. I will begin a new thread for another question relating to the AppDB. Thank you.

This is what I did, from the AppDB instructions. Go to etc/mono/2.0 and copy the machine.config file. paste it in wine/drive_c/windows/microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/CONFIG I had to create a CONFIG folder, and in fact pasted the machine.config file in the v2.05.0727 folder, and into the CONFIG folder I created. After that, I was able to use Wine to install Office 2010 Pro just fine. Keep in mind, not all the Office applications run under wine.
