wine users - Feb 2012 - I am a complete nube with ubuntu and wine and need help

I decided to try Ubuntu for the first time yesterday and I want to install wine,
but what happens is that it says cannot be installed and to check my Internet
connection. But my Internet connection is just fine otherwise I would not be
able to post here.

Can someone please walk me through this.

There are several ways to download Wine with Ubuntu.  First, we need to know how
you are trying to download it.

Are you using the Software Manager?

Are you using the Package Manager?

Are you using the command line apt-get install wine?

Are you using the page that was just posted?
