wine users - Sep 2011 - Errors with msvcp80.dll and EVE after upgrading to 1.3.28

I'm trying to get EVE Online running, it worked just fine prior to upgrading
but is unusable now.

Right after upgrading, I tried to launch the game, and Wine told me I needed to
re-download the Gecko packages so I clicked OK. It started downloading and a few
minutes later the game launched. I logged in like normal but ended up at a black
screen. I think the black screen was just due to the fact that my internet is
terribly slow and wasn't able to load the game environment since the Gecko
package was still downloading.

I exited out of the game and let the Gecko installation finish, then tried to
start the game again but all it does now is show the splash screen then crash.

I completely removed the Wine package as well as my configuration directory
(only backing up the EVE files). After re-downloading and re-installing, nothing
has changed. It still crashes after showing the splash screen.

I'm running ArchLinux 64bit

Hmm actually I just downgraded to 1.3.26 which I think is the last version I was
running and the same error persists. Maybe it's not an error with the new
version?

I ran EVE's repair tool to verify that my game client is not corrupt, also
to no avail. The game has not had any patches since it was working last night.
