[Wine] how or where to put .dll and .inf from an installerless driv
As the title suggests, i have a app that i need to install. It is a usb driver for a pic+pro pic micro programmer. The control program that came with the programmer installed fine. however, the usb driver it needs didn't install with it. The manufacturer relies on windows "add hardware" function to install the driver. Is there any way around this? The disk has two folders on it, one labeled micropro, which contains the operating files for the programmer. The other folder is labeled driver, and has these files in it: FTCSERCO.DLL, ftdibus.cat, ftdibus.sys, FTDIBUS.INF, ftdiport.cat, FTDIPORT.INF, FTDIUN2K.INI ( I assume an uninstall .ini for win 2k), FTDIUNIN.exe (the uninstaller for xp), FTLang.dll, ftser2k.sys (assumption=win2k server app), ftserui2.dll (assumption=win 2k server app dll) The problem I seem to be having is where to put the dll, ini, sys, and cat files, and have wine recognize and use them for accessing the programmer. I will admit this whole routine is due to a cheap programmer, that the manufacturers haven't taken the time to update their software to reflect the change between serial port and usb. the programmer I have does not have the serial port on it, only the usb, otherwise i wouldn't be needing the assistance here. Thank you for your time.

Also if you are stuck with a PICKit 3 or ICD2 interface game is not over. MPLAB X Native linux and mac program solution. Supports PICKit3 and ICD2 and the 500 monitor everything solution as well. Closed source annoy not as flexable as what you can make PICKit2 do. But hey works. http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/mplab/X_Beta/index.html Problem being of course Mplab X is officially a beta.
