I am a beginner trying to use wine to run the pdfXchange program and I cannot get it to be responsive. The program will start up but when I open a pdf file the window moves to the background and becomes unresponsive, but I can see that the pdf was loaded in the window. When I try and clk on it to bring it up the last window used just comes back up. I am using Ubuntu 10.10 netbook version and wine 1.2.2
Are you using just the viewer or also the editor? Because Evince is an excellent Linux native PDF viewer already. What happens if you minimize every other window on the screen until you're supposed to see PDF-XChange? Have you tried running from a terminal and see if there's any output you can post here?

Also experiment with allowing/not allowing the window manager to control the windows.
