wine users - Jan 2011 - How do I compile a specific version of wine?

I need to compile a specific version of wine - namely 1.3.6 - as a 
program I want to run is rated as Platinum under that version, but is 
garbage under 1.3.11.  I want to make sure the program really does run 
under 1.3.6 on this system and that it's not something specific to this 
box - or something I'm doing wrong - before I try and run a regression.

download the Wine 1.3.6 source code... and build it...
