wine users - Dec 2010 - CoD Black Ops Multi stuck on "Waiting for other players"

Whenever i fire up BO, i can load servers almost instantly and join pretty fast,
but when it actually trys getting me into the server, the loading bar will fill
and freeze on "Waiting for other players" and then it all grays out
for about 5 or 10 minutes, then I get into the server with much lag and a
"lost connection" notification. any help is greatly appreciated

edit: after tweaking some stuff in Wine, I can get into a server and spawn, but
there is some unbearable lag. btw, i have a GTX 460.

Have you installed DX9?
