I have been using altbinz 0.28.5 for about a year now under ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 without a problem. Now altbinz fails to start properly with access violation at an address in altbinz.exe. Write of address 02412000. Configuration data is missing and another access violation occurs when closing altbinz. This time with Write of address 00000000 This all seems to have started after ubuntu Update Manager loaded modifications for wine. How do I go back to the previous version of wine?
I believe this was the change. wine1.2 (1.1.42-0ubuntu4) to 1.2-0ubuntu6~lucid5 on the 28th October.

This works with wine 1.2.1 on both ububtu 10.04 LTS and 10.10. (Tried it on two seperate machines) So the answer is get a more up to date version of altbinz. The latest version is 0.31.8 but that may have speed problems which is why I downloaded 0.31.7. Hope this helps
