I have successfully installed/ran AudioMulch under Wine. One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up. My first thought was to install the Windows driver under Wine, but it's the one .exe that wont let me root/Terminal it's permissions. It's usually a class compliant plug/play device. Any suggestions?
Hey prep,> I have successfully installed/ran AudioMulch under Wine. > One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up. > My first thought was to install the Windows driver under Wine, but it's the one .exe that wont let me root/Terminal it's permissions. You cannot setup Windows drivers in Wine, that is not how wine works. Wine doesn't support hardware drivers, that is upto your OS. So if your nanokey works outside of wine, it should work in wine as well.> It's usually a class compliant plug/play device. > Any suggestions? Can you use the Nanokey outside of wine??? (ie: linux/your host operating system) if so, than all you should need in wine, is ALSA selected in the audio tab of winecfg. After that it should be as simple as making sure the device is selected in preferences of the given application. (i can see my AkaiMPK49 keyboard in all wine applications) jordan
Jordan, Hello, yes it works fine under Ubuntu. I did as you said, wineconfig, checked ALSA, rebooted. Still is not showing up under MIDI preferences for AM. Vitamin, Using the stock sound card in a Presario V2000. All works fine in Linux, audio works fine in AudioMulch under Wine, but not MIDI. I use the same controller with FeSTige, works fine. ------Original Message------ From: vitamin Sender: wine-users-bounces at winehq.org To: wine-users at winehq.org ReplyTo: wine-users at winehq.org Subject: [Wine] Re: Korg NanoKey under Wine Sent: Oct 27, 2010 9:53 PM prep wrote:> One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up.Which audio driver are you using in winecfg? And to answer your question, I have ALSA and Jack enabled under wineconfig. ------Original Message------ From: vitamin Sender: wine-users-bounces at winehq.org To: wine-users at winehq.org ReplyTo: wine-users at winehq.org Subject: [Wine] Re: Korg NanoKey under Wine Sent: Oct 27, 2010 9:53 PM prep wrote:> One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up.Which audio driver are you using in winecfg? hey fouramdesigns, I installed Audio Mulch, used Jack as my back-end for audio. That worked fine. I went into the "midi-input/output" settings, and Both the "Jack" input and "AkaiMPK49" inputs where present. I wonder what the issue here is? nanokey is using the same kernel module as my keyboard uses, usb-audio i believe... so that is the same. I am assuming your are using Jack with Audio mulch, right? (as you say you are using Festige, also?) I doubt the other soundcard (your stock one) is causing the problem. mainly because you are using them both with Jack with other wine apps (through FST) and linux apps... does your nanokey work well with other wine applications?? jordan
