Since Microsoft has been trying to destroy Linux, have they been trying to
destroy Wine too?

Not any activity in that manner, but they have changed their End User License
Agreements to add that their software may not be run on anything other than
Windows(TM) Operating Systems or in some cases, only MacOSX run on Apple
hardware.

A non-legal opinion:  Past precedent is that this will not stand up to a legal
challenge as this has been tried before and the US Federal courts have ruled
that this is anti-competitive.
