I tried to install iTunes via Wine. It installed but would not install Quicktime. I googled fixes and downloaded iTunes 7.2 and Quicktime 4 Linux. However, every time I try to "Remove" iTunes via the Wine installer, it ends up re-installing. I tried deleting all the iTunes files, but it seems the registry items are still there because I still get the same "Repair/Remove" that reinstalls iTunes 9. I tried the Add/Remove programs and it doesn't seem to effect the registry either. I'm stuck. Any ideas? Thanks
First thing you could try is starting out with a clean prefix. If you don't have any other important programs installed in wine, you could just remove ~/.wine. More information about that here: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-9893ae50079ca7a959258f0bc9a17aaf2e69b391 Also, if you're trying to sync your iPod/iPhone with iTunes. That won't work. But there are other ways in linux to do that, and there are also great alternatives for playing music.
