I'm new at this. I've got ubuntu 9.1, wine 1.1.36. I followed the steps on the wine page. I downloaded the perfect world client. There's a little sideways rectangle on my screen. I left clicked to open with wine windows programs loader. I got a box saying: The MDA or SHA1 value generated for the file does not match the value you entered as the checksum! Either the file did not download properly or the MD5/SHA1 value entered was not correct. What do I do? I have no clue. [Question]

Hi. Its MD5 - I tried it again. The download of the perfect world international client took HOURS. But I'll try it again. Thank you.
Where should I save the files on my computer? The default is: My Documents/Downloads/PWI Rising Tide

If so, you should be downloading from Linux and NOT Windows. Save them in your home directory, usually /home/<username>. For instance if your user name was Homer, the directory would be /home/Homer. Hi. The link at the Wine Perfect World page doesn't have a download for Linux. I downloaded the PW International client. Its what I understood. I'm on Ubuntu 9.1
Hi. I saved it to that directory and it downloaded and showed up in my Wine directory under Applications :) I clicked on it, it asked for a server, I selected Patch1 (it was either 1 or 2 to choose from); then there was a bunch of setting options - flowers, sky etc and I didn't touch anything; it updated the client and I clicked Start. It seemed to load and then the green bar stopped just after half way. And the first time I had a jewel cursor on the screen. After that attempt I enabled the Wine virtual desktop as the HQ page suggests and now there is no cursor visible on the client screen. I have tried running it a few times. The bar loads very quickly until that point just after half way and it stops. When I have tried to close the Wine desktop window it says that the client is not responding. Thank you for your help.
