> then why does windows media player 11 say that the operating system is illegal ??? >DRM. Wine cannot be validated as a genuine copy of Windows. That does not make it illegal, though. A pirated copy of Windows _is_ illegal, but Wine is a legal implementation of the Windows API on Linux. WMP was designed to assume that there exists no other implementation of the Windows API other than MS Windows. -- Dotan Cohen http://what-is-what.com http://gibberish.co.il ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-? ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-??-?-? ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-? ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-? ?-?-?-?-?-?-?
Why would you want to use WMP when there's plenty of better players for Linux? Have a look at Totem / SMPlayer / Any of the other 1,000,000,000 other players on Linux :)

As others have pointed out, there are others out there. You might also want to point this out to the company you are trying to download from. James McKenzie
