wine users - Jan 2009 - using wine for printing

is it possible to operate a printer using windows-based drivers in wine? i have
been searching for a way to use my lexmark x3350 in ubuntu 8.10 and so far have
found no support via cups or elsewhere and i was hoping that using wine might be
an alternative.
