wine users - Oct 2008 - CoD4 multiplayer = black screen

single player works fine
multiplayer doesnt start, just black screen or nothing
useing wine 1.1.6 
ubuntu x64 hardy

any logs? thanks :)

logs from ? 
CoD4 dont generate a log i think and dont know where to get the wine logs from
i can paste what happens in the terminal if it helps in anyway ?
