wine users - Jul 2008 - new user to Ubuntu 8.04.1 + old wine (1.0) + needed help

How i can get the newest wine without broking my Ubuntu install?

I have installed Steam
I have installed on steam - Counter Strike source + Day of Defeat Source. They
both need new font (CSS fonts are criples, but DODS fonts - black boxes).
When i have lunched game and join to server - i get into it but i cant push the
first button on game and it quits automaticaly after 3 seconds or so.
