I tried installing wine using MacPorts, and this is what happened: Code: ryan-vecas-macbook-pro:~ rveca$ sudo port install wine Password: ---> Configuring expat Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textproc_expat/work/expat-2.0.1" && ./configure --prefix=/opt/local --mandir=/opt/local/share/man " returned error 77 Command output: checking build system type... i386-apple-darwin9.3.0 checking host system type... i386-apple-darwin9.3.0 checking for gcc... /usr/bin/gcc-4.0 checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details. Error: The following dependencies failed to build: expat fontconfig freetype zlib libiconv gperf fontforge gettext ncurses ncursesw giflib jpeg libpng libxml2 tiff libxslt openssl pkgconfig render xrender Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Have you installed the development tools (XCode)?
I was not aware that needed to be installed. Where can I get it?
Using MacPorts here... Wine compiles without a problem in Leopard.
Ok so I installed it, and it doesn't make exes work just by double clicking. It says to use the winecfg.exe files to set it up, but how do I open them?
I have X11 installed, I am on an Intel Mac, and it asks me to choose an application when I double click an exe.
Am I supposed to put the file "Wine.bundle" somewhere? How do I make it so that I can double click exe files?
> I have X11 installed, I am on an Intel Mac, and it asks me to choose an > application when I double click an exe. >Select WineHelper.app which is located in the /Applications/Darwine folder. And to answer your other email, you should keep WineHelper and Wine.bundle in the same folder (That is, /Applications/Darwine) -Zach
Do you mean WineHelper.zip? I don't have anything called WineHelper.app.
