So I have an Intel Mac and I'd like to run a couple Windows apps on it. I looked in the Mac OSX working programs wiki, but it doesn't have any of the programs I want to use listed. I checked AppDB, but it doesn't have Mac tests for any of them listed either. I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with MS Office 2003 or 2007 or Steam on Mac OSX (Leopard) with Wine. Thanks.

Right, but I have extra copies of Office '03 and '07 for Windows lying around, while Office '08 for Mac is about $100 I'd prefer to not have to pay if possible.

Mike Kronenberg publishes them about one to three days after the published release. The latest that I know Mike has built is Darwine 0.9.61, which includes the Winehelper application and a nifty GUI front-end to Dan Kegel's Winetricks (which you might need for Office 2003.) Please post any further problems to the list/forum. James McKenzie
OK, maybe I'll wait till 1.0 and then test it out. I won't need either of the programs for the next few weeks anyway.
I downloaded it from SourceForge, which is linked from the Wiki on this site. Is that the proper version?
There is another build - http://thisismyinter.net/?p=29 At least version Darwine 0.9.60 contain X11, which is important. Kronenberg build require to install manually X11, as noted on site.> # Bevore You install, please make sure: > > * Tiger users: install X11 from your Tiger Installation DVD > > # download and open Darwine 1.0-rc4 > # drag Darwine to the "/Applications" Folder > # o delete, just drag the folder "Darwine" to the trash > # to completely remove Darwine (and Windows apps) from your system delete the following files and folders: > > * /Applications/Darwine > * ~.wine > * ~/Library/Preferences/org.wine.winehelper.plist >
