I am unable to run Generals, or Generals: Zero Hour with wine. The splash screen comes up, but then it says it cannot locate the DVD - which is in the drive and it actually whirls up to speed when the splash screen starts... Any ideas?

Some work with wine, some don't. What you can do is consulting appdb.winehq.org and see if some user have found a workaround. If not, I'm afraid you will get stuck until this is fixed/worked around. _____________________________________________________________________________ Envoyez avec Yahoo! Mail. I found on the appdb that some people have had success using no-cd cracks. The instructions are to patch from v1 to v1.04, then to use the 1.04 no-cd crack. My next roadblock is this: The patch gives me the following error message: "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."

I have no idea whether my fixes will go in before the 1.0 code freeze, though. Only time will tell how much functionality I can implement and get accepted before then. In any case, I will fix it, but it might take a long time.

Anyhow, I opened up a repo last night, and will push work to it when I think it is ready. Currently, I haven't really uploaded anything of use for this thread. http://repo.or.cz/w/wine/wine-griswold.git?a=shortlog PS. It seems I screwed something up so that when I push to it now, it fails. I need to, and will, contact the admin or whoever is in charge of repo.or.cz about it.
