wine users - Oct 2007 - Two versions of Wine ?

From a complete Wine newbie:

I use Wine to run apps related with GPS receivers.

I have upgraded from 0.9.33 which came with Mandriva 2007.1 Spring to 0.9.46 
from WineHQ.

Net result, the Garmin Mapsource app now loads and runs perfectly, which it 
did not do before.

But GPSMapEdit, which worked before, no longer does.

Question: is it possible to have to versions of Wine installed, and use one or 
the other depending on which app I need to run ?

Hi! 
  Does your Mapsource communicate with the GPS ? Mine doesn't (with Garmin
Etrex Vista). It detects the GPS properly but an attempt to download a map
tells me that GPS doesn't react. Which version of Mapsource are you using ?

	Yes this is possible you just need to install them in different directories. 
For example if you compile from source you can run WINE from root of source 
directory and you can have multiple source directories.
	But I really encourage you to report this regression to 
http://bugs.winehq.org . By reporting this problem to developers you will 
help developers to fix this regression so in future versions of WINE both 
your programs will work. In fact, reports of regressions is very important 
because they allow WINE team to find errors made by developers in new 
implementations.
