I use an nntp interface to read these lists, from new.gmane.org (the 
list gmane.comp.emulators.wine.user). The wine-users list is also 
available on most nntp servers as comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine. From 
there, you can find and respond to old threads "properly". I don't
know
of another way.
