I have in /home/john/Documents the rpm file 'wine-20040914-mdk.i586.rpm' changing to 'su' will permit the installation of the package by using rpm -iv wine-20040914-mdk.i586.rpm I know that by using the command 'winhelp' the directory /home/john/.wine will be created. I forgot how I happen to know this. What document source would tell me that I would have to use 'winhelp'? John

Run "notepad" instead in such case next time. I am sure the directory gets created too. AFAIK, this is quite a new feature, so I doubt it is documented already. I pretty may be wrong here, as I am not reading docs ussually <g>.
