wine users - Apr 2003 - Wine, M$Excel and MSCREATE.DIR

Hi,

Is it possible to get M$Excel working with Wine?

I use Mandrake 9.1 with wine-20030115-4mdk and M$Excel97 SR1

I always get an error about MSCREATE.DIR when I launch Excel.

Console messages are:

Should I try CrossOver plugin?

Are vba macro OK with it?

PS: verify you write access rights to the directory you're trying to
write.

Maybe you all considered this, but... Why don't you
use Open Office ? I think you can even use those vba
macro's (I must admit I don't really no what those are
but I've seen some info on it in the configuration
tool

It works great, it looks a bit like Excel-like and it
have Linux binaries so it 'll run better than Excel
(even though the loading time when first loading the
prob  is a bit long)
