wine users - Dec 2002 - cannot determine executable type

Hi all
   I've wine installed without Windows.  I've successfully managed to 
install and run Office 2000 Standard.  However when I try to install the 
file "F:\QwikStat.msi", I receive the following email message: 
"wine:
cannot determine executable type for 'F:\QwikStat.msi'"

Any ideas what I can do to fix the problem??

the *.msi is not an executable in itself, its a "document" that is
opened by the windows installer.
