1. Anyone know of an Ogg playing media player, similar to the Netgear MP101 or the Voyetra AudioTron-100 (neither of which play ogg) ? I need something that will display and play/stream ogg audio files stored on the PC, without having to use a tv as the viewer. I looked on the wiki but didn't find anything. If they don't use a tv they don't play ogg, so far anyway. Voyetra AudioTron-100 [ http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/audiotron/producthome.asp ] Netgear MP101 [ http://www.netgear.com/products/details/MP101.php ] 2. And while I'm here. . .What's involved for one of these companies like Netgear or Linksys to include Ogg as a supported format? Is it just an addition to the firmware? Is it that much of an additional expense? How do we go about getting them to support it? Kent

Most devices can play uncompressed WAV files and the necessary bandwith is rarely an issue in local networks.> 2. I asked them if it can also play these off a DVD but haven't got an answer yet. Josh __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The all-new My Yahoo! - What will yours do? http://my.yahoo.com

XBMC is not the Microsoft "media extender" program, it is open source. You can get custom Xboxes with LCD screens on the front, plus it will play DVDs, Quicktime, Windows Media, Real, Mpeg-1, Divx, Xvid, you name it. Basically all the Mplayer codecs and then some. It will also play any audio codec as well. It really is very good software. It will stream from Windows, Mac, or Linux as well. It will also play Xbox games too ;). You can add a wireless adapter if you don't have wire to the location you'd be using it. It will also use the stock Xbox DVD remote if memory serves me right, or maybe even a wireless mouse and keyboard. Here are some links with more information: Toms Hardware Review of stand-alone media players http://www6.tomshardware.com/consumer/20040511/index.html http://www6.tomshardware.com/consumer/20040511/xbox-multimedia-12.html#conclusion Xbox Scene http://www.xbox-scene.org There are some companies you can buy premodded Xboxes like this with the LCD Screen, and the ability to run non-Microsoft code if you prefer.
