I have yet to speak to a single Mac user who has successfully received a live or archived Ogg stream. I'm been told neither MacAmp nor Quicktime will accept streams, they only play files. Are there any Mac users on this list who can recommend a player (from personal experience) which actually plays Ogg streams? db http://www.subgenius.com/ts/hos.html --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. The only one that I've had success with is Audion, but it's not free. -- agreenbu @ nyx . net andrew michael greenburg --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. That seems to work great, and is free. http://www.whamb.com jack. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. I'm not a Mac user, so I can't speak from personal experience, but how about the Java based JLGui player? http://www.javazoom.net/jlgui/jlgui.html It tries to be a "WinAmp" clone but isn't really far enough along to be true. However, since it's in Java, it should run just fine on any platform. To be honest, I have not tried streaming with it, though. With a slow dial up connection, it's just not practical. (I'll do streaming when true cd transparency can happen at 32k....[grin]) ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Bachner" <bachner@ica.net> To: <vorbis@xiph.org> Sent: Friday, November 14, 2003 7:35 AM Subject: [vorbis] Recieving Ogg streams on a Mac? <p>> I have yet to speak to a single Mac user who has successfully received a> live or archived Ogg stream.
