[vorbis] redistributing the win32-dlls - commercial license?
hi there, i'm new to vorbis (this list and the spec) - and i'm pretty new to audio-programming in general. i have a question consurning the license of the win32-dlls i get when downloading the vorbis-win32-sdk: am i allowed to redistribute these libraries with a commercial program? i want our application to be able to save .ogg instead of .wav but it's an application that customers need to pay for. it's not the main function of our program, it would just be a little "nice-to-have" feature. i've found this "license-template" in the faq: http://www.xiph.org/licenses/bsd/ and it states: "authoritative license terms are included with each software bundle" but i'm unable to find any license file in the vorbis-win32-sdk. what did i miss? thx in advance. ps: it's about these files: vorbisenc.dll vorbis.dll ogg.dll -- +++ GMX - Mail, Messaging & more http://www.gmx.net +++ Bitte lächeln! Fotogalerie online mit GMX ohne eigene Homepage! --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. See the COPYING file. If it's not in the SDK (it should be, but it might have been accidently missed), it's available in the source code packages. Basically, as long as you reproduce the license (it's not long - about 4 paragraphs) in documentation with your software, you're fine.
