Hello, I'm a student interested in the syslinux idea of google summer of
code 2008. Is this mailist a main contact or there exists any other such

The official IRC channel is #syslinux on irc.oftc.net.  It isn't always 
all that active, but the GSoC mentors are there.

This mailing list is also available, of course.
