Perhaps if a student shows interest in a given topic, someone might be inspired to sign up as a mentor? Keeping the list of ideas up-to-date and finding mentors are the two things I...

...of Code project and we would really like to continue our participation. However, without the support of more community members, we fear that we may not be selected as an organization this year. They are already reviewing projects and to improve our chances of participation we need more projects and mentors listed on the GSOC 2018 webpage. https://llvm.org/OpenProjects.html#gsoc18 Time is of the essence here. If you can think of a project that you think would be a useful addition or improvement to LLVM or a sub-project, please list it. If you personally can’t mentor then reach out to others who migh...

Also, please consider signing up to mentor. All the student enthusiasm in the world can't be put to any use if there are no mentors. A mentor only needs to provide technical direction and grading, all other aspects of the program will be handled by myself. If you have any updates to the ideas pages or are interested in mentoring, please get in touch! Students: Application requirements: * Applicants meet Google's require...

GSoC 2014
Google's "Summer of Code" is on again. If you're not familiar with GSoC, see: http://code.google.com/soc/ We had a brief discussion on IRC, and we have enough potential mentors to make it worth applying again. Org applications are open Feb 3rd-14th. Accepted orgs are announced on Feb 24th, and students can apply between March 10th and 21st, but the keen ones have already started to talk to orgs. The full timeline is here: http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/events/goog...

Syslinux is now participating in GSoC 2012
...ejected it. As kernel.org has been accepted as a mentoring organization, and also listed Syslinux as one of the things they intend to develop, we can work with them under their umbrella. As I'm currently the only mentor of kernel.org (for Syslinux, specifically), I'm also looking for both mentors and students who want to participate in Google Summer of Code 2012. The project's ideas can be found at: http://www.meflin.net/gsoc2012/Gsoc2012~ideas.html People who want to become a mentor of kernel.org, please submit an application as a mentor of kernel.org at GSoC 2012's page. [GSoC] Mentor qualification guidelines
Hi all, I have a question related to GSoC. One of my students submitted an idea [1] for a GSoC project and I would be interested in (co-)mentoring this project but I'm unsure of the qualification requirements for acting as a mentor. Is there anyone that can clarify the requirements here? I have been working with LLVM for several years now but mostly on projects outside of the main LLVM

Public Apology to Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Singapore
I was misconstrued as having insulted Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. My words were twisted and misinterpreted and I feel that there is a need to explain myself and set the record straight. What really happened It was sometime in Aug/Sep in the year 2009. The setting was in the Tampines Central office of Asiasoft Online Pte Ltd. I was having a ***verbal*** conversation with Melvin Lee,

You can still add or improve ideas after then, but it's less likely to make a difference to us being selected. * Identifying potential mentors. Every idea on the list should have at least one suitable potential mentor attached. If you're interested in acting as a mentor for one of the ideas there, please update the page. One of the questions I need to answer in the org applications is how many mentors we have, so if...
