Question about wine 0.9.2 and VideoLan Media Client
Hi! I just installed wine 0.9.2 on my Linux system and tried installing VLC 0.8.4 for Windows: http://www.videolan.org/ The installer ran fine and VLC even started! I was able to open a WMV file but when it started playing back, it crashed: ----------------START---------------------- tom@linux:~$ wine vlc-0.8.4-win32.exe fixme:win:SetWindowTextA setting text "VideoLAN VLC media

theora video plugin ? videolan plugin?
hi, I'm Alexander a just a question ? is there a reason why there shouldn't be a web player for theora in Mozilla FireFox ? or Internet explorer ? I'm thinking to compile videolan player with theora support only and enable the web plugin interface, it would replace the cortado player and possibly provide a better alternative to flash video plugin in linux when somebody starts a

Yum package/instlal/update problem
Hi gang! I'm trying to update my videolan client (0.8.4a-4.el4.rf) to the latest 0.8.6 version. I see that Dag has a 0.8.6 for EL4 (I'm running Centos 4.4) but when I do "yum update videolan-client" it says there's nothing to update. When I remove the videolan client than do "yum install videolan-client" it insists on trying to install the 0.8.4 version:

You're probably all tired of people like me...
Alright. Fedora 13. Wine. Steam. kgo. It's not working. Steam 'updates' to its latest release on installation (as it should) but the app quits as soon as it launches. I ran it from the terminal and get the following error dump: Code: [David at localhost Steam]$ wine steam fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation ((nil),0x32e488): stub

permission denied, no logs
Hi, We have a sendmail/dovecot/squirrelmail installation that was working ok except for deleted files showing in the list with a [d] beside it. In trying to fix that issue, I apparently made a new error appear in the left navigation area: ERROR: Could not complete request. Query: CREATE "mail/Sent" Reason Given: [NOPERM] Permission denied There are no errors in dovecot, but from what

Icecast Radiolist Error
Hello Icecast Developer, I hope, that I'm right here. My favorit Multimedia Player (VLC-Player) from Videolan can not play current a single Radiostation in the Icecast Radios List "http://dir.xiph.org/yp.xml". The "Icecast Radio Directory" in the VLC-Player does'nt find any Icecast Radiostation. I get an Error in Line 51875, column 75

In the C# version of this code, these two copy regions are stored in separate arrays entirely. I agree that there should be no normal way to have the memcpy

videolan
Everyone might be interested in knowing that videolan's cvs tree, combined with the excruciatingly simple patch attatched, is capable of playing back chained ogg/theora+vorbis streams. (encoded with example cvs). For example, icecast video. videolan has decided to parse vorbis, speex, theora headers with its own code. There's an ogg demuxer (the file I patched) and the codecs are each

This concerns the contributed package "concord". Sorry to bother you with it, but my attempt to contact the author/maintainer failed (see below). Perhaps you can forward it, or let me know where to send it. Regards, Rob Kushler ------------------------------------------------------ This is the Postfix program at host tak.itd.uts.edu.au. Hi all, Some of us, gluster developers would be in Bay area (Oakland, CA) for FAST18 (https://www.usenix.org/conference/fast18), Feb 12th - Feb 15th. factors
Hi, I'm requesting you don't berate me for asking this question: I clearly don't have the gist of factors. I have two dataframes, A and B. Each of them has a column containing strings (they're labels). I want to, one-by-one in a loop, compare the particular string in an entry from dataframe A to an entry in B, to see if they're the same. The problem, when posing the

Feedback about Vorbis Comment Chapter Extension
Hallo again! Some month ago we discussed about the Vorbis Comment Chapter Extension: http://wiki.xiph.org/Chapter_Extension I got some critics about this specification, especially from the VLC developers: see https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/6895 Some parts of it: <cite> This specification allows holes between chapters and allows overlapping chapters... And does not explain what to

[Flac-users] Quicktime plug-in?
try this site first: http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net/ I don't think they have flac yet, but they were the ones working on vorbis for quicktime (and thus iTunes)... and someone started a speex project there too. If someone would volunteer to add a flac component, I'm sure it would happen. Check their user support forums... there has been interest for a flac component. This is

Stream Test
Hi Seeing as other people are posting streams to test, the system I have been developing has an Ogg/Vorbis/Theora stream that you can watch. I would appreciate any feedback to what players can play it and which players have problems. (I am using Icecast as the streaming server) So far I have found VideoLan plays the stream very well. MPlayer was ok, but wasn't as good at buffering.
