Communications with UPS denchi@localhost lost
Hi,
I always had problems that my Smart-UPS 1500 had "hickups" with nut:
Connection would get lost, just to get restored seconds later again.
This resulted in annoying log entried and console messages but wasn't
too critical. For a few days, nut doesn't detect my UPS at all any more.
I get the console messages:

battery.temperature vs ups.temperature
The (2.2.1) upshid-ups driver reports battery.temperature rather than
ups.temperature. Here's a quick patch to have it show up in the status
page...

"Communications with UPS advice@localhost lost" when using an other USB device
I use Debian jessie with nut-server 2.7.2-1+b3.
Yesterday I've configured it for my new Advice PRS850 (a UPS with USB interface).
I also have an USB webcam (and also USB mouse and keyboard, but that doesn't matter).
When I start the program Cheese (a program which uses the webcam), I receive the following broadcast message:

nut unable to communicate with new APC SMX100 over USB
I'm trying to set up nut-2.6 with a SMX1000 ups unit from APC on a
CentOS 4.8 server. It's connected via USB, and Linux has detected it as
a HID device. Nut was built from source code.

no USB/HID UPS found?
Hello world;
been using nut atop Debian GNU/Linux (sid) for about two years by now,
my configuration broke as I upgraded the machine this morning (headin'
for kernel 2.6 to have full support for the new GBE NIC included). I
read through the UPGRADE.gz instructions provided with the Debian
packages and tried to fix things according to the instructions pointed
out there, but things still just

Another Discovered/Undocumented feature of yumrepo - and a workaround
I was working with yumrepo, defining new entried and seeing them appear in /etc/yum.repos.d
After considerable tinkering, and with the sad discovery that resource { ''yumrepo'': purge => true } does not work,
I moved my working /etc/yum.repos.d to /etc/yum.repos.d-old and re-ran my catalog.
To my surprise, the repo entried were appended to /etc/yum.conf
Long story short:

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable
to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's
UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version
I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and
I've updated UDEV a bit too.
When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

RSS testing on localhost?
If I were to figure out how to develop an RSS feed for my blog, I should
be able to test that locally right? If I go to
http://mydomain.com/posts/feed/, what should I see? The XML output?
Thanks!
