Blazer_usb Permissions problem: Input/output error
Merry Christmas to you all and best wishes! I ran into exactly the same problem as described. OS: FreeBSD 9.0-Rel UPS: Eaton E-Series NV 600H NUT: from Ports, nut-2.6.5_1 driver: blazer_usb I am sure the problem is not permission-related as it occurs even when the driver runs as root. My tested recipe for USB permissions is: 1. run usbconfig to find where the device is connected. In my case:

Fopen upsmon.pid - no such file or directory - Nut 2.8.0 built from source
I've built NUT 2.8.0 from source. When the nut-monitor runs: fopen upsmon.pid fails. I'm running as root, upsmon has root:root permissions as well as the other daemons and .conf files. I've tried configuring with and without --prefixpath --prefixaltpath. Is there something I am missing? Please see attached. Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Getting two notifications of nocomm-timer expired when USB cable is pulled from the UPS
NUT 2.8.01 When I pull the USB cable from the UPS, I get two notifications of the nocomm-timer expired. The first notification is in the proper sequence, the second notification occurs after 'commok' occurs. Seems somehow that upssched-cmd is getting a second nocomm-timer expired delayed. Dummy-ups cycles between online and onbatt every 5 minutes. (Nut 2.8.0)
Now that upsstats.cgi works, I've noticed that dummy-ups changes state every 5 minutes between OL and OB (probably when the 300 second timer expires). The UPS state stays online. Also "online" and "onbatt" are broadcast to the console probably via WALL. (The state changes don't seem to be form the ups as upsshed-cmd doesn't run). Upssched-cmd does run when the UPS

Hi - I have NUT running very nicely on a serial port on one of my OpenBSD servers, and using hidups on a RHEL4 box. Now I'd like to run it on two Macs, a PowerMac and an XServe G4. What is the USB port I need to configure, and do I need the newhidups driver? Thanks in advance for the help! Ted

blazer_usb vs. Ippon Smart Power Pro 1400
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello 2All. Today I had purchased Ippon Smart Power Pro 1400 UPS for my home PC. It is a higher class device relative to Ippon Back Pro model line. It has one RS232 port and one USB port to connect the monitoring station to. UPS talks with megatec protocol, RS232 works as usual. USB connection is done through Cypress Semiconductor usb-to-serial chip

Support for languageID in blazer_usb
I've just commited a patch in trunk that adds langid_id as an option (r3364). Since I'm in the process of releasing 2.6.3, I would appreciate if you can do so quickly ;-) There is also some test code, that prints out (debug level 1) the first supported language ID from the device. Please post back this trace, so that I can improve the code and automate more this. cheers, Arnaud

Problem with blazer_usb and 0001:0000 device
I have Tecnoware EcoStrip 1100VA UPS which unfortunately uses Upsilon 2000 software. Their Linux software does not work but Windows version does so I made pcap file of the usb traffic with Wireshark available at http://www.dumbot.net/problems/EcoSrip1100VA.pcap I've read many posts on problems with these devices and tried all variations available with the blazer_usb driver without any luck.
