[youtube] Performance of video in flash
Hi, I am quite happy about using swfdec except one thing: performance while playing videos. I know that I can not expect much as long as OpenGL isn't used buy... currently I get something about 1fps using: AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-28 1600 MHz 514 684 kB RAM Radeon Mobility X700 (radeon driver) Is this normal that fps value is so low? Audio works fine but it's impossible to

Autoplay option
Hello! I don't like the recent change to the plugin that makes some flash files to play automatically. I know that GUI design is not my thing, but let me explain what I don't like: 1) It's not obvious to the user that the "play" toggle is persistent. Media players don't change their behavior just because the user presses the "play" button. 2) No user who

Shorewall and SuSE 9.3
The basic functionality of Shorewall 2.2.2 works fine with the soon-to-be-released SuSE 9.3 (I have an early copy). I''ll be trying it over the weekend with more complex configurations involving IPSEC and OpenVPN. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \

[LLVMdev] Which linux distribution required the least effort to install LLVM 2.3?
Hi! I'm a new LLVM user. I want to start using the LLVM System v2.3. However, I don't want to spend all my time hunting, pecking, downgrading, and/or upgrading packages to get LLVM v2.3 running. I was wondering which Linux distrubutions(FC7, Ubuntu, NetBSD, etc) have required the least effort out of the box to start running LLVM v2.3. tia, Bernardo Elayda -------------- next part

animations?
Is there a method for creating "animations" using R. Or is there another piece of software (unix perferrably) that can generate a "movie" from many ps/eps/gif/jpg files? Thanks, Jeff. Jeff D. Schedule for R 1.9.0
The process leading up to the release of 1.9.0 is detailed below. Package maintainers may want to take notice of important dates and make sure that their packages still work with the alpha/beta releases or work on making a 1.9.x comaptible version. As usual, everybody is encouraged to try out the preliminary releases and report back so that we can get the last wrinkles ironed out before release.

. Re: Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz
Dear Dotan, The problem of flashing/flickering in 3D apps/ videos with Xv enabled on account of non-redirection is limited to AIGLX and not an issue at all with XGL and compiz. fglrx till date has many mem leaks and crappy 3d performance on linux especially with compiz enabled. If you want to use these apps with compiz, for now use XGL. Else just disable compiz temporarily when

Compiling swfdec without GTK
I want to cross compile swfdec-0.4.5 for ARM9. But before that I am planning to compile it on my x86 machine without GTK support. I have already compiled it with GTK. But if I disable GTK then I am getting error messages while compiling test directory. I have used following configuration options: ./configure enable_shared=no enable_static=yes enable_mad=no enable_gtk_doc=no enable_ffmpeg=no
