Recieving Ogg streams on a Mac?
I have yet to speak to a single Mac user who has successfully received a live or archived Ogg stream. I'm been told neither MacAmp nor Quicktime will accept streams, they only play files. Are there any Mac users on this list who can recommend a player (from personal experience) which actually plays Ogg streams? db http://www.subgenius.com/ts/hos.html --- >8 ---- List archives:

ipw220 wireless firmware for CentOS 5
OK, I've downloaded and unzipped the firmware files in ipw2200-fw-3.0.tgz - so I have 4 files: ipw2200-bss.fw, ipw2200-ibss.fw, ipw2200-sniffer.fw and LICENSE.ipw2200-fw, all of which I've placed in the /lib/firmware directory. Unfortunately, the instructions in README.ipw2200 and INSTALL are not clear as to what to do next. I'm using CentOS 5 on my (Dell) laptop so setting-up wireless

resampling to 48 kHz
One thing that has always bothered me about the ogg format is the distortion of high frequency sounds - even at data rates as high 128 and 160 kbps. I find the best way around this is to resample the wav file to 48 kHz (using SoundForge 6.0) before encoding (using CDex) to ogg. It takes a while, and adds a lot of extra wear and tear on my drive, but what a difference! The result is an 80k ogg file

Can't get ipw2200 to work in CentOS 5 on Dell laptop
I've installed ipw2200-firmware-3.0-3.nodist.rf from RPMForge using yum OK. I've loaded the ipw modules with /sbin/modprobe ipw2200 and then /sbin/lsmod | grep ipw which gives: ipw2200 136873 0 ieee80211 33417 1 ipw2200 However, when I run system-config-network I don't see Intel Coporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG (eth1) in the list of adapters. Also, when I

HTB burstable for 2 interface , how ?
Dear folks, Here goes my bandwidth manager: INTERNET | |eth0 202.14.41.1 BW.Manager | | | +----eth1----192.168.1.0/24 | +------eth2----192.168.2.0/24 Total incoming bandwidth to eth0 is 1024kbps should be shared to eth1 and eth2, which mean each get 512Kbps and burstable to 1024Kbps if other host is idle. My question is how do i apply HTB to these situation ? As far as i know eth1 and eth2

samba PDC on FreeBSD question
Evening everyone. I am going to be changing our current Samba PDC running Red Hat, to a FreeBSD server. I was curious if anyone out there, who is currently using FreeBSD as a PDC could give me their feedback on how it is working. Also, if they had any suggestions or recommendations regarding Samba on FreeBSD. Maybe even what they like and dislike about it. I would imagine, it should be the

KPFA live vorbis stream
I just joined this list, so I'm not sure how many of you are already aware of this. KPFA is a 59,000 watt free speech community radio station in Berkeley, California that has been on the air since 1949. They were the first listener sponsored radio station in North America, paving the way for many other community stations across the U.S. and around the world. KPFA was one of first signals to

Broadvoice Toll-Free IVR issues
Perhaps someone else has had this issue. I currently have BroadVoice as my SIP provider with two phone numbers. The first number is my primary local number; the second is an 877 toll-free number. The issue is with the IVR abilities. When calling the primary number you can press 200 at the main menu and receive my extension. When calling the 877 number, 200 will result in ?that option is invalid?

MP3 decoding, fading and streaming at the same time
Hi There, I have just ported to Linux a program that I wrote years ago in Prolog under DOS to automate our Shortwave radio station. Back in 1990 the original program used ADPCM coded audio files and a special board. Now I can use MP3 files and a Soundblaster compatible card ;-) under Linux, and it runs from a console without any fancy interface. I absolutely need to fade-in and fade-out

Questions regarding ADS
I 've spent the last week troubleshooting a configuration issue regarding samba not being able to connect to other domains beside the domain of which it 's a member server (samba 3.0.14a, krb 1.3.6, w2k). I have some doubts perhaps someone can answer... Suppose this scenario: Samba name : SAMBA Main domain: DOMAINA (domain controller = DCA) Others domains : DOMAINB, DOMAINC (domain

Hi, I am very new in this list.. I want each of my internet users to be limited in his/her usage of bandwidth. The limitation will be done in my squid (linux) box, as they all have to be authenticated by squid before going to the internet jungle..
