Vorbisgain / Flac
have linux install on my laptop, and decide to clean up my music collection, found allot of my music that has replaygain tags, and allot don't. How would I fix the ones that don't have any replaygain tags, ? have flac and flac123 ogg ogg123 vorbistools and vorbisgain..etc, all installed, can play music fine, but when I hit a song, that doesn't have replaygain tags, need to turn down

Suggestion for libvorbisfile: scaling
I've been experimenting with the ideas of Replay Gain[1] and find that ogg123 doesn't have a way of specifying the scaling applied to replayed samples (like -f in mpg123). Looking at libvorbisfile, I see no function exactly matching this possibly desirable behaviour. ov_read() scales by either 128 (byte output) or 32768 (word output), but there's nothing in between. ov_read_float()

Sensitivity to sounds with frequency
Hi, I've looked in various FAQs and web pages for this info, but just can't seem to find it. When two tones of two different frequencies sound equally loud, what's the (rough) relationship between their power? Is Vorbis prone to clipping?
Hi, with the Lame MP3 encoder I reduce the amplitude of the input signal prior to encoding with the --scale option to prevent clipping that can be introduced due to resampling errors. Bug Report. Replay-gain and ogg.
I just bought an I Audio mobile device (Btw, these thigns are the coolest players on the face of the earth.. might want to check em out). It plays ogg vorbis files rather nicely. My whole music library is sitting in flac format. When I encoded my flac files (the majority a year ago) I used replay gain to save the album and track information if the flac file. Extension to libvorbis for lossless volume changes
I added a new function to libvorbis that allows lossless changes of the volume to an vorbis_block. Replaygain backend and ogg123 patch

wav/raw normalization
Hey all. I was an "early" adopter of mp3 (1994-1995), and I took great pains to use digital audio extractors and avoid jitter and whatnot thru proper hardware - back then, this was no mean feat. Well, I'm starting to switch to Ogg (dragging out all the CD's, starting over) and I want to know if anyone has an informed opinion on the merits or demerits of "normalization"
