Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi!
What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows
Media Player 9 or 10 ) ?
The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and
tobias).
I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by
me),
but can't find it any more.
Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ?

David

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport
I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files.
Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5
- they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any
more that it is an unsupported file format
- they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without
any complaint
- they can be added to the media library.

Any encoding speedups ?
Hi!
I think some more speed at encoding would be very welcome.
So, is there any work on faster vrobis encoders ?
For x86 ( windows, linux ) platform ?
Currently I use OggDrop , which uses ogg library 1.0final, on
Pentium III 866 MHz and Athlon 900 MHz.

DirectShow filters ?
Hi!
First , on page http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2
"Other Software Which Supports Ogg Vorbis"
there is a link to http://mediaxw.org (Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters)
The page is gone. It has a notice that it moved to
http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw
I sent this note to feedback@vorbis.com.
Second, that project is suspended.
But there is another one at

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a standised way of recording the CDDA
database number (the information stored on a CD to help look up the CDs
details on the net)in the tags?

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi!
( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters
homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I
am not sure what his email address is )
I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes
winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position
slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp
does not respond to any user input

"Infinite" wav files
Okay, before I submit my patch to make libao produce sorta-streamable wav
files, I want to know what these partial wav files do to various
players. I've posted two sample wav files on my webserver:
http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/infinite.wav
http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/zero.wav
The first uses a riff and data length of 0xFFFFFFFF (approximately
infinite) and second uses a riff and

libao-0.8.5 patch
Hi!
There are some little inconvenience in libao-0.8.5.
- The biggest is may that:
the documentation and the header file declare the ao_file_extension function,
which give a hint for the file extension where the device is realy a sound
file. This function is missing.
-An other: the alsa 0.5 and the alsa 0.9+ drivers short name. It will be better
if the alsa 0.5's name will be alsa05 and the
