Winamp plugin not recognized at all
I happily downloaded the official beta4 winamp plugin as well as Mattew's versions with VCE interated and with/without the dialog. When I installed it winamp (v2.72) didn't recognize it (no vorbis plugin listed in the config, doesn't play ogg files) - same for all of them. I recompiled it myself from Mattew's source with vce - same results. It does recognize the old plugin when

Winamp plugin playlist behavior
Hello vorbis-dev@xiph.org! I used to be an MP3-addict, but beta4 convinced me so from now on I decided to convert all my new audio to OGG :) I'd just like to point out a strangeness in the Winamp plugin behavior - try this: Start playing a vorbis file, then click List Options->New List, after that add a playlist or a stand-alone music file to the list; almost immediately the first item

Alternate winamp plugin.
Hello everyone, I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp

Winamp output plugin
Hello, are streaming bugs fixed? Sometimes Winamp uses 99% CPU when connecting to the server. This makes it impossible for me to encode a stream and listen to it on the same machine. >Well, I've got the WinAmp Output Plug-in built and it seems to work OK, > >enhancements are: > >(a) works with the current version of the encoder API >(b) deals correctly with more formats (8

icecast 2.0 semi-permanent test stream
Icecast 2.0 and Ices 2.0 are both fairly usable now. I have set up a semi-permanent test stream for people to bang on at: http://i.cantcode.com:8888/ices.ogg Please report any problems you have. I say semi-permanent, because it will probably crash now and then, and I will be developing and putting up the new versions on a regular basis. If it stops working for more than an hour, somethings

Re: WinAmp OGG Output Plugin
This message appeared in my inbox over the weekend. A useful idea although I have not reviewed the code. Might someone on the list (or the original author) be interested in running with it? PP's out_vorbis winamp plugin based on RC1
I just found a message in vqf's forums http://www.vqf.com/bbs/display.php3?board=VQF.comForum&DISP=12831 that says: Have you tried vorbis output plugin for winamp ? it already support rc1 encoding! http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ --> see misc ! I checked this plugin and found it was based on libvorbis RC1. I wonder what does it mean? Can this plugin use Ogg vorbis encoder engine RC1?

Sorry, had to foward this. Chris: Majordomo is triggering on the HTML in the message and rejecting it. Winamp plugin streaming problems
I have problems getting streams with the Vorbis WinAmp plugin. MP3 streaming works fine. If I connect to a server, I can see data being sent/received, and the kbps/khz display will change, but no sound is played. Also, after a while the kbps/khz display starts giving bogus values. All the while, data keeps being sent/received, but no sound is ever played. I am behind a HTTP proxy for port 80,

[Flac-users] WinAmp PlugIn and Ogg framing.
Hello flac-users, I'm trying to play an ogg flac file in WinAmp 2.80 but I get nothing. I'm using the native Vorbis plugin and the shipped FLAC 1.04 plugin. I guess it's a conflict regarding which plugin "owns" the ogg extension or format. I'm not sure. But I wanted to know how good the ogg framing was. But I couldn't test it because metaflac doesn't

WinAMP plugin Source
Where can I get the source for the WinAMP plugin? I'm trying to compile a version on my Alpha CPU based machine and the one in the CVS Snapshot says that it is depreciated, but doesn't say where the current version is located at. Can anyone point me to the new one so I could compile it up? Laters, Mike --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Winamp 3 plugin and flac 1.0.3
When I copy the winamp 3 plugin into the appropriate winamp folder, and start winamp, Winamp complains that it cannot find MSVCRTD.DLL Was the plugin mistakenly compiled as Debug and shipped that way? Any way for me to get the winamp3 plugin that isn't debug? I do not have MSVC++ to recompile it. -Justin

Winamp plugin installation
Okay, this is a nitpick but I gotta do it. First the background: I'm trying to convince a diehard mp3 coworker of mine to use ogg for his personal project along side of mp3 and having a tough time. His gripe is that the default players all support mp3 (Winamp and wma) but not ogg and that his listeners won't want to go out and install it. We have now set up a huge shared drive on the

FLAC winamp plugin
Hi, What is the best way to play FLAC files in winamp? Using the in_flac.dll plugin provided in the flac-1.1.4-win.zip file and copying it to the Plugins subdirectory of winamp or using the plugin that's provided by winamp itself? Are there differences between those 2 plugins? It's not really clear for me thanks in advance Harry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

vorbis winamp plugin
Hi I've developed a player that utilizes winamp input plugins for decoding audio to PCM. I'm going to include an open source mp3 input plugin, in_mpg123.dll, and I'm wanting an open source in_vorbis.dll as well. One question. Since vorbis is open source, would it break any rules to distribute the in_vorbis.dll included with Winamp? I presume so but thought I would ask.

Winamp Plugin Info Editor
Jack, Michael, Monty, Chris, Hi guys, it's me again. ;-) The one major feature missing from the winamp plugin has been a info/comment editor option. I've been working on an idea for the last day or so. The idea was to add Warren Spits VCE program to take on this job. I've got all of the code done and I now have a working comment editor in the vorbis winamp plugin. It's all
