Hello everyone, I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp plugin available so those who are interested might want to give it a spin. It has a comment editor/tag editor, a few configuration options for streaming etc. You can find the file at... Please DON'T e-mail him about it. It's provided as is and isn't even an official release yet. Supposedly it will someday possibly end up in the winamp distribution. The author of the this vorbis plugin also wrote the midi plugin that's already included in the winamp dist. http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip The creator's website is at... http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ Where among other things you'll also find an alternative winamp output plugin. What are the chances of this being distributed with winamp, and getting this plugin put up on vorbis.com? I tested that plugin - sadly it does not work on my machine. It doesn´t even appear in Winamp-preferences... just like the "normal" Beta-4 plugin from vorbis.com. The only plugin working on my system is the old Beta-3 one. Reinstalling Winamp doesn´t help. My setup: - Windows 95 C German - AMD K6-2 400 on a DFI P5BV3+ Rev. C Mainboard (1 Meg of 2nd-level cache) - Creative Labs SoundBlaster PCI64 - Winamp 2.74 Anyone with an idea of what´s going on? I am sorry that I can´t provide more information... there´s no error-message or something like this. bye, Maik Merten --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Hi, I had the same problem, and with Winsock 2 installed, all work correctly :)) Thanks, Jerome -----Message d'origine----- De : Alain Bertrand <alain.bertrand@crpgl.lu> À : vorbis@xiph.org <vorbis@xiph.org> Date : vendredi 20 avril 2001 14:15 Objet : Re: [vorbis] Alternate winamp plugin. Did you update your winsock on Win 95. In the case that streaming is enabled in the plugin, it requires Winsock 2. You should be able to find the update on Microsoft.com.
