No rule to make target all.R, needed by compiler.rdb building R 3.4.1 from source, Scientific Linux release 6.9 (Carbon)
Hello,
I am trying to build R from source on Scientific Linux release 6.9
(Carbon), Linux version 2.6.32-696.3.2.el6.x86_64 (Red Hat 4.4.7-18).
I load the needed modules and run:
*./configure --prefix $install_dir --with-blas --with-lapack
--enable-R-shlib 2>&1 | tee config-R-$version.log*
The "configure" command seems to run ok:

Possible ld.exe problem when building
Dear R People:
I am trying to build R-2.5.0 from source on a Windows machinee.
I downloaded the tools and such, and started things off.
I received some odd errors messages, looked on the R Search
and found a similar problem. The suggestion was to re-load
"ld.exe".
I downloaded and installed everything again. Same problem.
I am including my output.

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Please note that building R on Windows is documented in "R Installation
and Administration", including links to external software. Particularly
there is a link to texinfo which is part of Rtools. The documentation is
maintained and it is a sufficient source of information for building R
on Windows.

Error compiling R.2.8.1 with gcc 4.4 on Mac OS 10.5.6
Hi all,
I've encountered a build error with the latest R source (2.8.1). This is a
relatively fresh install of OS Leopard (10.5.6), latest developer tools
installed, gcc/g++/gfortran version 4.4 installed (via
http://hpc.sourceforge.net/, after which I updated the gcc & g++ symlinks to
link to the 4.4 versions; gfortran used the 4.4 version without updating the
symlink).
Ultimately I

Improvement of SignRank functions
I took some time and liberty and tried to improve
existing implementation of SignRank functions
in R. (dsignrank, ...)
As I have seen they've been based on csignrank.
So I modified csignrank and, I believe,
improved calculation time and memory efficiency.
The idea is basically the same. I use the same recursion
as original author used with one slight modification.
I am generating Wilcoxon

problem getting R 2.3.1 svn r38481 to pass make check-all
Hi,
I noticed this problem on my home desktop running FC4 and again on my
laptop running FC5. Both have previously compiled and passed make
check-all on 2.3.1 svn revisions from 10 days ago or so. On both these
machines, make check-all is consistently failing (4 out of 4 attempts on
the FC 4 desktop and 3 out of 3 on the FC 5 laptop) in the
p-r-random-tests tests. This is with both default

then rank(A)=2
what is this function?

I did try help.search("rank"), but all the returned help information
seem irrelevant to what I want.
I would like to know how people search for help information like this.

Difference Between R: wilcox.test and STATA: signrank
This is my first post to the mailing list and I guess it's a pretty stupid
question but I can't figure it out. I hope this is the right forum for these
kind of questions.
Before I started using R I was using STATA to run a Wilcoxon signed-rank
test on two variables. See data below:

Installation help
Hello,
I am trying to compile R using the Sun WorkShop 6.0 (Forte) compilers.
I don't think I am having a problem with the compilers, but instead with
figuring out how to modify the R configuration to use non-Gnu compilers.
I found in your documentation that one should modify the config.site
file
to change compilers, compiler flags, library paths, etc. I made
modifications

Bug in wilcox.test
There is a fairly new bug in wilcox.test in R-2.2.1 (stable).
It wasn't there when I last taught nonparametrics in fall 2003.
Line 86 of wilcox.test.R
achieved.alpha<-2*psignrank(trunc(qu),n)
It should be
achieved.alpha<-2*psignrank(trunc(qu)-1,n)
If you don't see why, decode the cookbook instructions p. 56 in
