Cannot create macvlan devices on this platform
Hi,
libvirt (0.9.11) refuses to start KVM based virtual machines on my
system when changing the network connection from "host bridge" to
"direct" (macvtap/macvlan), neither in "bridge" nor in "vepa" mode:

That's astonishing because I can easily setup working macvlan devices

USB Host Controllers
Hi,
it is possible to define a domain along with several usb host
controllers, e.g.
<controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-ehci' />
<controller type='usb' index='1' model='ich9-uhci' />
How to distinguish between those controllers/busses when adding input or
host devices such as
<input type='tablet'

Passing dhcp-options
Hi,
I'm running some Windows clients inside KVM virtual maschines managed by
libvirt. These clients are managed by a Samba 3 PDC. Therefore the DHCP
needs so supply corresponding WINS server (dhcp option 44) not only IP
address and DNS server.
Is it possible to make dnsmasq driven by libvirt to supply custom dhcp
options?
I would appreciate something like this in the network.xml:

id map range overlap
Hi all,
I'm using Samba (AD) under Debian Buster.
Testparm tells me the idmap of TDB and AD would overlap.
However the configured range don't.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

How do I configure additional serial ports?
I have installed two 4-port serial cards (http://www.startech.com/
Product/ItemDetail.aspx?productid=PCI4S550&c=US) on a CentOS 4.4
system. The hardware appears to be recognized correctly, as kudzu
added 2 entries to /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and lscpi shows both cards
(output of lspci -vv for both cards included at the end of this email):

pciback for usb-controller and usb-storage on x86_64 ends in Oops
Hi!
I tried to pcipassthrough usb-controllers to domu to use it with a
memory-stick.
First xen complained that the driver needs write-access to its
configuration space, so I added these to pci-quirks.
Since it still didn''t work I also added the device to pci-permissive but
I still get an errormessage with Oops (at the end of this email) when
sticking in the memory-stick.

I have 2 HFC-ISDN-cards, which I pass through to the Asterisk-DomU in

have worked OK for me on some other CentOS installations, none of which are
4.4. Short of replacing the board, which you can bet I will do, can anybody

I am trying to set up a Xen server using two 4-port NIC cards. The
exact type: D-Link DFE 580TX. There are no problems using this cards
under plain linux. The driver is called ''sundance''.
But when I use pciback.hide the DomU can''t access this card.
I have had the same task when using the NIC BCM 5708 (NetXtreme II).
