hi, so today i make the upgrade to the last 1.3.8 version of wine, but now i get this : wine: cannot find the server port: 0x0000044e when i try to run any wine stuff. I have googlit, but without sucess. any one now how to solve this? thanks

I've heard that you can change the operating system that Wine is...I don't know, replicating? Whatever. It seems that everyone knows except for me, and I can't find a simple explanation anywhere. Does it have something to do with the registry editor thing? I really need some help.

I have a Ubunu 8.04.1 system that has been running a package under wine with no problems since last June. A few days ago I ran the software upgrade program and it moved wine from 1.1.7 to 1.1.9 and this package no longer works. When the program starts it needs to contact a server and that portion fails.
